App “Diet with Flashcards” (shown on the phone as “Diet Cards”) · version of 1 October 2026
In short: everything you enter — including your allergies and any health conditions you tick — stays on your device and is never sent to us. We never see that you installed the app or what you put into it. The free version shows advertising from Google AdMob, which processes technical data from your device; in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it does so only with your consent. Subscribing to “Plus” removes the advertising and, with it, the only third party in the app.

This policy is written to meet the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), under which the operator is established, and is intended to satisfy the privacy laws of the other countries the app is sold in, including the US state privacy laws.
The app has no account and no sign-up. What you type into it is stored only in the app's own storage on your device:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your sex and age, and — only if you switch calorie counting on — your height, weight, activity level and goal | To work out a daily calorie target. Without calorie counting the app never asks for your height or weight. |
| Health conditions you tick (high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, kidney disease, gout, coeliac disease, lactose intolerance, acid reflux) and your food allergies | To remove meals that are commonly unsuitable for that condition, and to remove anything containing an allergen |
| A religious or cultural food rule (halal, kosher, Hindu, Buddhist, Jain), how you eat (omnivore, pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan) and your preferred cuisines | To filter which meals are suggested |
| The meals you have saved, the days you have planned, which meals you have marked as eaten, and the items you tick off a shopping list | For the Saved page, the calendar, the history and the shopping list |
| Whether you have an active “Plus” subscription | To hide advertising and lift the free limits |
The conditions and allergies you tick are data concerning health — a special category of personal data under Article 9 GDPR. We want to be exact about it: this information is written to the app's storage on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. It is not sent to us, not sent to Google with the advertising request, not included in anything you share from the app, and not used to target advertising. We have no server, no account system and no way to read it. It is processed on your device, by you, and stays under your control; you can untick any of it or delete the app at any time.
The filters built on it are a convenience, not a medical safeguard — see the terms of use.
The free version shows a banner at the bottom of the screen served by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, for users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland; otherwise Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). To show an advertisement, the Google Mobile Ads SDK built into the app sends technical data to Google, which may include:
It does not include anything from your profile. Google uses what it receives to select and deliver advertisements, to measure them, and to detect fraud. Depending on your consent choices, Google may use it to personalise advertising across apps and websites. How Google processes it is described in the Google privacy policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
No advertising is ever shown on the profile form, where you enter your illnesses, or on the subscription page.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before any advertising data is processed, using Google's consent message. You can decline; the app works the same either way — only the advertising changes. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the “Ad privacy choices” link on the Plus page in the app. The legal basis is your consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Where you consent, data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses.
Outside those regions, advertising data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in funding the free version of the app, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can limit personalisation at any time in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and Apple Advertising; Android: Settings → Google → Ads). Where a state law gives you the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information or of targeted advertising, you can exercise it through those same device settings; we do not sell personal information ourselves and hold none to sell.
Subscribing to “Plus” removes the banner. The advertising SDK then makes no requests, and no data goes to Google from the app.
The subscription is handled entirely by Apple or by Google. They process the payment, they hold the payment details, and they decide what they tell us. We receive only anonymous sales reports — numbers of subscriptions by country, never who subscribed. The app stores only the fact that a subscription is active, so that it can hide the advertising and lift the limits. Apple and Google act as separate controllers for that processing:
The “Share” button hands plain text to your device's share sheet. What happens next is up to the app you choose there (Messages, WhatsApp, Mail, …) and its own privacy policy. Nothing about the recipient or the message comes back to us. The shared text contains the meals and the ingredients — never your health conditions, your allergies, your age or your weight.
You can untick anything in your profile, remove saved meals and clear a planned day inside the app. Deleting the app removes everything it has stored. There is nothing to request from us, because we hold nothing.
If you have iCloud Backup or Android Backup switched on, your operating system may include the app's storage — including your profile — in that backup. That backup is handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies, not by us, and we have no access to it. You can exclude the app in your device settings.
The app is for adults. It is not directed at children and is not intended to be used by anyone under 16; the calorie calculation refuses ages under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The advertising is requested with Google's “treat as child-directed” flag off. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to the address above and we will delete it.
If you write to us about the app, we process your email address and whatever you put in the message, on the legal basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in answering you. We keep the correspondence as long as needed to deal with it, and delete it afterwards. Please do not send us health information about yourself, or anything else you would not want in an ordinary email: there is no reason for us to have it, and we would rather not.
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Articles 15–21), and the right to complain to a supervisory authority (Article 77). Users in California and other US states have comparable rights under their state laws. In practice there is nothing for us to give you, correct or erase, because we hold no data about you; for the advertising data, please use Google's tools linked in section 3. If you believe otherwise, write to the address above and we will look into it. You will not be treated differently for exercising a right.
If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, the policy is updated before that version is published, and the date at the top changes with it.
